Llamas

Spring 2010 Kids Fainting Does Fainting Bucks Herd Health For Sale Sales Information Uncomplicated Birth Llamas Other Animals

Hello again and welcome to our llama page.

After much consideration we have decided to sell our herd of 7 llamas (4 females, 3 males). All llamas are well taken care of, healthy, up to date on worming and shots and have been shaved for this year. All do well on a halter and lead rope and are easy to handle. The one male can be territorial at times and does better by himself. We hate to see them go but we just do not have the time to spend with them that they deserve because our herd of fainting goats keeps us busy. We had plans to start a packing business and offer day hikes with a llama and they would be an excellent starter package for someone who has the interest. They all shear a generous amount of nice dense fleece and would make a great starter for the hobby spinner. I would really prefer they go together but would separate them if requested. They have been in with our goats so being around other smaller animals is not an issue.  You might even consider using them as guard llamas.

Ramone was our 1st llama at Slate Brook Farm.  He came as a surprise to us at 8 months of age with the delivery of our first three myotonic goats and instantly won our hearts.  Ramone carries the grace and high spirit of his Sire Avalancher as well has his beautiful soft, silky fiber.   He gave us three beautiful crias Spring 09.

Rosey came to Slate Brook Farm in August 2006 and were are very excited about her.  Rosey is full Peruvian and is a very pretty lady.  She has nicely locked "rosey" colored fiber with grey highlights.  She comes from excellent blood lines and I've been told by her previous owner that she is unrelated to most Peruvian males in the country.  She is an excellent guard to our female fainters and her calm, gentle disposition works very well with them.
