Kids purchased at Slate Brook Farm can leave the farm once fully weaned at approximately 12 weeks.  We will not pull kids from their moms to make them bottle babies unless absolutely necessary. Our goats are good mothers.

HEALTH PAPERS:
Every state has their own laws governing what tests are required to transport your new goats into your state.  You can check with your vet for your state's requirements or visit the APHIS web site http://www.aphis.usda.gov/vs/sregs/ to see your state's requirements.  Any Health Tests and/or Health Certificates can be done by our veterinarian at the buyers expense.  There is normally a farm visit charge and a charge for the physical inspection plus the charge for any  required tests.  Any charges will be the buyers responsibility.

PAYMENTS:
All animals and any other fee's related to that animal must be paid in full prior to the goat leaving our farm, no exceptions.  A non-refundable deposit of  $50.00 is required to hold a goat for you and is due within 10 days of your agreement to purchase.  If the required deposit is not received within 10 days the agreement to purchase is void, unless a written agreement has been made.  The goat will then be placed back for sale or made available to a back up buyer. Payments can be made on the goat until it is picked up (receipts will be provided for any money received).  Personal checks are accepted but any final payment due at pickup must be either cash or money order.  As a convenience we do accept paypal.

We do hold the right to retain any goat over any reservation of safety or well-being.  If this should occur any money paid would be returned to you.  If a goat is taken ill or deceased in our care, prior to leaving the farm, you would be given the option to have your money refunded or select another goat.  If no goats are available then your money would be refunded.

PICK-UP:
Pick-up must occur within 2 weeks of the kid being weened.  After two weeks there will be a $2.50 / day charge to board your kid until it is picked up.  Goat not picked up within 30 days of the scheduled pickup date will revert back to being property of Slate Brook Farm and no refund of any money paid will be given unless written arrangements have been made.

We expect our buyers will make our goats safe and comfortable during transportation.  We request that the buyer use a animal crate large enough to accommodate the size of the goat that you are transporting.  If your carrier will be outside(ie. in a truck bed) we ask that you give your goats protection from the weather.  It is recommended that you put a layer of paper and then a layer of hay or straw on the floor or the carrier to make for bedding and absorption of  urine.  We also request that food and water be provided to your goats during transport especially if traveling any distance.  We reserve the right to refuse to sell or allow transportation of our goats with those that we feel are not responsible for our fainters.
