About Marion

Enthusiastic Fish Ecologist from France.Ìý

I am currently a Postgraduate Researcher in the Fish Habitat Research unit, supervised by Dr. Ben Ciotti.Ìý

My Research focuses onÌýMarine Juvenile Fish Habitats. I use several functional indices (fish'sÌýgrowth,Ìýnutrition,Ìýconnectivity) to improve our measurement ofÌýcritical juvenile fish habitatsÌýand ultimately help settingÌýconservation priorities.
Ìý
One important focus of my research is the calibration of aÌýRNA-based index of growthÌýfor juvenile fish. I use a combination ofÌýfield dataÌýand data obtained under controlled conditions in theÌýlabÌýto make this index robust and more applicable.Ìý
Ìý
I also use fish'sÌýotolithsÌýandÌýeye lensesÌýas archival tissues to studyÌýontogenetic connectivity, looking at geochemistry and isotopes.Ìý
Ìý
My case study is the wild population ofÌýjuvenile common soleÌý(Solea solea) in theÌýSevern Estuary.
Ìý
I am also involved in the ICES Working Group on the Value of Coastal areas for Exploited Species.
