About Sophie
Associate Professor in Terrestrial Ecology.Ìý
My research interests are in the response of forests to global change, including the impacts of climate change, increasing carbon dioxide, and forest degradation. I have experience in tropical forest ecology, ecophysiology and ecosystem modelling. A particular focus at present is how different species of tree maintain leaf temperatures, and the impacts of climate change on leaf functioning. I am also interested in the local environment closer to my office, with increasing interest in urban ecology and temperate rainforests, on which I am working with community groups.
