About Sophie
Currently, I am embedded as a researcher in Plymouth City Council as part of the Plymouth Health Determinants Research Collaboration /research/primarycare/public-health/plymouth-health-determinants-research-collaboration We aim to support the development of a research active culture for evidence based public health services that prioritise the perspectives of service users.
As a research assistant, consultant and now a researcher-in-residence, I have worked on a number of projects ultimately concerned with reducing health inequalities, which often includes reducing environmental inequalities at the same time. In addition, I have experience working for an environmental non-governmental organisation abroad and as a primary school teacher and childminder in the UK. I bring knowledge of the third sector, mixed methods research and education, with a particular interest in children and young people as a demographic cohort, to my work.
