About Wai Ling
Wai Ling is a Lecturer of Oral Sciences at the Peninsula Dental School. She also co-lead the dental foundation programme. Prior to Plymouth, she was teaching on the MPharm 2+2 programme at the University of Nottingham Malaysia Campus. With ten years of postdoctoral experience between Oxford (MRC Human Immunology Unit) and Plymouth, Wai Ling has worked on various research theme related to virology, immunology, neurodegeneration and tooth stem cell regeneration. Her more recent research interest is in the area of oral microbiome and link with systemic diseases.

Teaching
Wai Ling is contributing to teaching of dental sciences in BDS and DTH programmes with a focus in physiology, embryology and pharmacology. She is also acting as academic tutor to year 1 and foundation students.Â
