Geologists have an important role to play in ensuring wise planetary stewardship and delivering improved human wellbeing.
But conveying this critical role to non-geologists is hindered by difficulties in conveying our science to lay publics and policy makers. Therefore, geologists need to become better communicators, storifying their science through more compelling and engaging narratives.
Drawing on first-hand experience of both documentary filmmaking with broadcast media and interdisciplinary collaborations between scientists and non-technical end-users (from politicians to communities), this free talk by Professor Iain Stewart MBE will explore these principles and practices of re-storifying planet Earth.
This is a hybrid event, which can be attended in person at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, or online via Zoom.
