Explore Zoo Field through a series of activities and games with the Generous Earth composting champions and rangers from Green Communities!
Join us to celebrate a year of growing and composting activities at Zoo Field Nature Hub. The nature hub is funded by Hubbub and Starbucks as one of over 100 nature hubs in the UK.
Check out this special part of Central Park with fun activities to explore and enjoy nature.
Activities include: • Storytelling in the Lion's Den with Gin Farrow-Jones • Guided tour • Nature games • Creative crafts • Welly wanging... and much more!
We will also be measuring the height of the sunflowers we planted on 21 June as part of the Big Green Trail with the Climate Legends!
Come along and help make compost by bringing some food waste to put into the special Ridan composter! All are welcome at this free event.

About Green Communities

is an exciting project which is connecting people and wildlife in Devonport, Central Park, and in Keyham and the West of the city of Plymouth.
Green Communities is a partnership project between Plymouth City Council, the National Trust, Devon Wildlife Trust, Real Ideas Organisation and Zebra Collective. It is a pilot project funded through a combination of grants and contributions, including support from Heritage Lottery Fund Urban Nature Development Grant and Natural England.
The project builds on the work of the Green Minds project that ran from March 2020 – August 2022.

About Green Minds

was an Urban Innovative Actions (UIC) funded project that aimed to better connect people to green and blue spaces within and around the city of Plymouth.
This innovative project was led by Plymouth City Council’s Strategic Planning and Infrastructure Department in collaboration with a range of local stakeholders including the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ, Real Ideas Organisation, Arts University Plymouth, Devon Wildlife Trust, The Data Place and the National Trust. The project aimed to improve the quality and condition of green and blue infrastructure. It also aimed to positively enhance people’s interaction and involvement in these spaces, recognising that spending time in green and blue spaces has positive health and wellbeing benefits.
