Researchers from the Faculty of Health led a national study with £1.8 million of funding from the (NIHR HTA: 15/111/01) to test the effectiveness of new support to help smokers who want to reduce but not quit.
The TARS study findings have been written up as an NIHR Final Report and are currently under peer review. Once this stage has been completed a summary and links to all Open Access publications will be provided here, hopefully towards the end of 2021. Data from 915 participants were collected across the four sites, and the study team would like to thank all those involved.
This study was managed by the Peninsula Clinical Trials Unit (PenCTU) and supported by the and was a collaborative project between the ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓÆµ, Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust, St George’s University of London, University of Oxford, University of Nottingham, University of Exeter and Plymouth City Council.
